Brand New Book Release

I wasn’t supposed to win, but I refused to lose!

If we don’t learn to focus on our own wellbeing and make that a priority, at some point we will burn out.  We can become so challenged by our own inner demons, that our mental health takes a beating.

This book is for every person who is finally choosing themselves. It is your right to heal, move forward, and live your best life!

About The Book

Have you ever felt like you were bound to a life of misery? Have you ever punished yourself because of your past?

If you’ve ever hidden your struggles, or put up a good front to maintain relationships, then this book is for you. Your past does not have to define you, unless you decide not to heal from it. You can only continue to be a victim for so long before you will be annoyed by it. I am not telling you what I think, I am telling you what I know from experience. It’s a tragedy to be blind to the beauty of your struggles and not see yourself as a victor instead of a victim. In order to feel like you matter, you don’t need people to feel sorry for you. You need YOU to find true happiness. Find yourself first so that you are free to live your life on your terms and not through the eyes of other people.

Introduction

Dear Reader,

Before you get into the meat of this book, I want to explain how and why this book was written. This book is not a project that I put together in one day. This book was therapy for me. As I poured words out onto these pages; I released years of bottled up emotions that once held me captive. I thought I would never be free of them.To be honest, I have never been completely transparent about my life, mainly because of fear. Fear which has caused me to spend most of my life under the misguided instruction and leadership of my emotions. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a better person, yet I held onto my anger. Anger is what kept me going, or so I thought. It took me a long time to pick up the pieces and get to a place where I was consistently moving forward in my life. However, the fight to become who I desired to be proved to be almost impossible.

Eventually, I reached a point where I could be realistic and transparent with myself. I was able to identify that what I experienced in my childhood and teen years played a major role in who I had become and how I learned how to handle situations in my life.

I’ve always known that I was created to help people. It is my passion. For a long time, I helped everyone but me. I was amazing at giving advice, but when it came to applying it to my own life, it was a disaster.

Hiding from my past and suppressing the things that had tormented me, caused much damage to me later in my life. When I had finally gotten to the point of desperation, I was able to accomplish things I never thought I could.

As you read this book, I encourage you to challenge yourself. Be ready to make permanent changes in your life and be willing to do the dirty work to make it happen. Don’t worry about being selfish as you work on yourself. Don’t let anyone or anything distract you from your purpose. Like me, don’t allow fear to be an excuse.

This book is an autobiography of my life. My hope is that by reading my story you will be encouraged along your own journey.

Discovering yourself will change you in ways unimaginable! There will be many highs and lows along the way, buckets of tears and days you want to hide from the world. But once you really take a look at your life vulnerably, you will reach a freedom you’ve never experienced before.

Being an orphan changed the direction of my life. I was raised by my grandmother and left to manage my own pain of my parents abandoning me. I became a teen mother and survived a very difficult relationship.

If you are willing to apply yourself and do the work, you will be able to live your life on your own terms and experience freedom like none other; like I have been able to achieve through my own journey of discovery.

I suggest journaling as you read this book. Write about your feelings, fears and hopes. Your journal will become a reference as you are challenged by circumstances and people in your life.

My mission in sharing my story is to help you realize you are not defined by past decisions and misfortunes in your life. You are able to create your own happiness. The value you add to the world is immeasurable and I want to help you become the best version of yourself! Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey.

The value you add to this world can only be added by you. You are uniquely you. Stop hiding and dimming your light. There is no manual to how we should live. The only thing you are responsible for is becoming the best version of yourself possible.
